The 2027 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 29 through May 1, 2027 in Washington, D.C. The three-day event will bring NFL teams, draft prospects and football fans together as the next generation of NFL players hears their names called.
Washington, D.C. will host the 2027 NFL Draft. The event is expected to use some of the nation's capital's most recognizable locations, with the National Mall anchoring the Draft Theater and NFL Draft activities extending along Pennsylvania Avenue.
The event will include the main draft selections as well as fan activities and other NFL Draft events throughout the three-day weekend.
The NFL Draft consists of seven rounds in which NFL teams select eligible players, primarily from college football.
Round 1 is held on the opening night. Rounds 2 and 3 follow on Friday, while Rounds 4 through 7 conclude the draft on Saturday.
Draft positions are influenced by the previous NFL season's results, playoff outcomes, trades and compensatory selections. Picks can also change hands as teams make trades before and during the draft.
The 2027 draft class will become much clearer as the 2026 college football season progresses. Player performance, injuries, postseason games, all-star events, workouts and the NFL Scouting Combine can all affect how prospects are evaluated.

All 32 NFL teams will have an opportunity to add players during the seven-round draft. Some teams will hold additional selections because of trades or compensatory picks, while others may trade selections to move up or down the draft board.

Between now and April 2027, attention will increasingly turn toward the players who could become the next NFL stars.
